In this episode of All the Write Marketing Maria Dismondy talks with Allison Szczecinski a special educator, children's book author, and social emotional learning coach all about how you can use books in the classroom and at home to teach important social and emotional skills.

Allison is passionate about books and using them as important teaching tools at home and in the classroom. In her coaching practice she teaches that SEL books can help teach social and emotional skills but not by themselves. It is up to us as parents, teachers and guardians to make sure that we are following through and helping our children apply these important skills in their everyday lives.

In this episode, you will learn:

  • Can books really teach SEL skills?
  • How can we leverage the great behavior and SEL books out there for the kids who need them most?
  •  What's an effective strategy for encouraging the carryover of skills taught within books?

  • How publishers marketing to educators and schools is a great way to introduce books to families.
